Fork you?

__

4x5. I think the picture was slightly blurred around the fork because it wasn't flat when I scanned the positive. Since I'm not actually going to use this for anything, I'm not going to bother rescanning. I'm sure you get the general idea.

Silverware is one of the worst photographed things ever. Look in magazines, most of the time they only show the tips if it's an ad for silverware. It's because most proffessionals don't know how to do the whole thing. This isn't perfect, as it's a little dark, but hey, I've never done it before, and a little putty woulda fixed that (below the handles). Next time I know what to do. :)

I'm really diggin' the blue fields and the mix of textures.

The weave of the blue and white cloth versus the relative smoothness of the blue surface everything is on and the mirror smoothness of the silverware really kicks ass. The overall composition works really well and, combined with the light source coming in from the left, gives the whole piece a very natural feel. It's not "Martha Stewart's Living"-style perfect and that's what makes it look cool. = P

A damn fine piece indeed.

It is now my duty to reproduce this photo in a 3d modeling program.

...Eventually.

Dan: Don't worry, I didn't backwash in that one.
Me: Is Coke supposed to be chewy?
Dan: Ok, so maybe I did.

hey this is a really good shot. the lighting is sooo soft and smooth, and the colors are good. the reflections aren't at all harsh and the composition is good. 4x5 is really sharp, i'd like to see higher res or something. good stuff, though.

Almost everything I post can make a really sweet 20x30, but I shrink it down because the number one complaint I get is it is too big to view on full screen/get with a slow modem.
